According to statistics from China Customs, China imported 6.438 million tons of sulfur in the first seven months of the year, an increase of 8.9% year-on-year. The average import price was $240.1 per ton, up 131.8% compared to the same period last year. In July alone, sulfur imports reached 1.094 million tons, rising 10.6% month-on-month, with an average import price of $283.0 per ton, down 4.0% from the previous month.
In terms of sulfuric acid imports, China imported 8,000 tons in July, a decrease of 67.6% compared to the previous month. After excluding high-priced acid, the average import price was $70.8 per ton, up 4.0% month-on-month. Over the first seven months, total sulfuric acid imports reached 77,000 tons, down 20.6% year-on-year. Excluding high-priced acid, the average import price was $61.2 per ton, an increase of 47.4% compared to the same period last year.
On the export side, China exported 428,000 tons of sulfuric acid in July, an increase of 10.0% month-on-month. The average export price was $67.8 per ton, up 10.1% from the previous month. In the first seven months, total sulfuric acid exports reached 2.619 million tons, a significant year-on-year growth of 103.0%, with an average export price of $55.5 per ton, up 146.4% compared to the same period last year.
